A lot of people earn a living by rendering services . By definition services involve doing something for a consumer , which could be either personal or indirect and in turn the people pay for the services directly or indirectly . The tertiary sector of industry in Nigeria , otherwise known as Nigerian service industry has the sole duty to provides services to businesses and also to various final consumers depending on the situation . throughout the years the service industries have contributed greatly to the economic development of Nigeria in so many ways . To further elaborate more let's consider some of these impacts :
* The service industries serve as an employment generator in Nigerian . Services industries whose main duties and activities are in trading , banking , transportation , communication etc . help to generate abundance employment for it people
* With the help of service industry revenue have been generated for both the government and for the people , and this revenues are used to build other sectors of the economics .
* Service industries in Nigeria serves as a means for national integration , in the sense it brings different people from different regions and countries of the world to a constant touch with each other to enhance interaction among the people.
