In the forex market, you can mainly trade in two ways, intraday or short term trading and long term holding which is generally for more than 1 year.

Both of the types have their own advantages and disadvantages. The intraday trading is good for those who wants to earn quick money. Traders normally choses the most volatile pair. The selected pair's price action should be fast, otherwise the fluctuation would be very slow. Generally, high leverage is preferred in short term trading, as the amount of margin required is very high. And leverage help him to hold higher margin.

Where as in long term trading, investors choose low leverage. Preferably most of the investors do not take leverage at all. They hold the money where the long term growth is more, hence they usually avoid the pairs having high volatility.

So, as a trader which one do you prefer to trade with, short term or long term?

Though I don't know much about forex but with you explanation, it depends on an individual. If the miney used in trading is spare money and not to be used immidiately, I still believe and prefer long trading to daily trading. The money to be expected let say in the next five years will be always bigger than the one gaining daily.

Yes, long term trading has many more benefits over short term trading. The short term trading contains huge risk. Since such trades are executed with pairs having high volatility, so the chances of losing money also becomes high. Where as in long term trading, a trader normally chooses small leverage and less volatile pair, hence the risk factor is low.

Besides, long term trading gives you much rest of mind. This is especially if you invest with spare money as the law says. The eagerness to make profit while trading on a short term level is always high which may even lead to a slight mistake that can ruin the trade. That's why I prefer long term trading.

You have got my point. If you always try to remain in front of screen for trading, that doesn't only affect the health of the individual, but also make him addicted. In such case, the peace of mind will not be there at all. But in long term trading, since you are holding a a stock for long period of time, you can sit back and relax.

I don't actually agree with you. Yes you may prefer to trade with crypto currenceis, but forex is also a good platform for earning. Even better than crypto trading in my opinion. In crypto market the volatility remais very high, which is actually negative critera for trading, in other hand forex market is very professional and has less volatility so you can hold your position without any doubt of sudden spike or something.
