Is it necessary for an online business to have an office?

Many members having an online business have low revenues, so they cannot afford to rent any office. Yet in some countries, online business owners who do not have an office, are cheated, exploited by government employees, who falsely claim that their relatives who do no computer work, own the online business, to get their relatives and friends government jobs faking online expertise, income, bank account at the expense of the small online business owner. Due to online business ownership fraud, the online business owner is denied fundamental rights including the right to privacy, since the government employees are always monitoring the online business owner so that they can make fake claims about their relatives, friends who they have got government jobs. In your country, do online business owners having low revenues, usually $1000 or less monthly, often making a loss, have offices or do they work from home?

Over here so many people that are working online do not have an offline shop , they mostly work from home and I consider that to be the best way because it will be an extra expenses for you to pay for a shop when you can easily work from the comfort of your home without any problem.
But mostly I believe some online business workers also have an offline store depending on the type of business they are doing. There are some people who sells their offline product digitally , these people will always have an offline store for people to reach out to them when they are in need of products , most especially people who are close to the Business's location.

If you are a freelancer and you deal with digital services I don't see the need of you having to go and rent an apartment when you can easily work from home.

It appears that in Africa online workers do not face any problem if they work from home, no one questions them why they do not have an office. Only in some countries in Asia, small online business owners are facing slander, cheating, exploitation because they do not have a office, though well paid government employees are aware that the online business owner is making very less money.

having a physical office or shop for your business depends mainly on what you do. That is, it depends on the type of products or services you are producing or rendering.
If you are an amazon e-book publisher, it is not a must for you to have an office offline whereas a food seller must have an offline place where customers will meet him or her to buy food.

It also depends on the size of the online business. While large online businesses like Amazon, Meta are supported by government agencies have high revenues and plenty of employees they can afford to have offices. In contrast some online business owners are not getting any orders, since their leads and orders are diverted and stolen, so they are aware that they will never make more than $300 a month in profit. I am talking of these online business owners making less than $300 monthly profit, who do not have any local client in the country, because of fake cases racket in the internet sector. They cannot afford to rent any office, yet government agencies are harassing them.
