Is it possible to leave an organization in peace?

Everything that has a beginning always has an end. This is not true of the relationship between an employee and an employer. Most times, the employer is not always comfortable with the employee leaving his/ her organization. Is it possible for an employee to leave an organization and still be on good terms with the employer?

In the two places I have worked in, at the point of leaving, I had to fight my bosses because they were seriously bittered by the fact that I was leaving. That's the case with other employees I have seen. Whether it is a sack or a voluntary resignation, there is always bad blood between ex-employees and ex-employers. It is very rare to see an ex-employee that is given a rousing welcome when he/ she decides to pay a visit to the old place he/ she worked. How can we forge good relationships between employees and former bosses?
