Is technology causing an increase in unemployment?

Technological advancement has made things easier for mankind. Now we can accomplish greater things with relatively less energy, time and manpower. But is this actually a blessing?
Think about it, anytime an innovation or new invention comes in, people lose their jobs. For example, in the agricultural sector, labourers are often employed to work on farmlands, but with tractors now readily available, the number of hired labourers drastically decreased. Also, in the filming sector, people are assigned to handle video coverage. But with the invention of drones, fewer people are required to do that.
So for everytime we have a new invention, people out there lose their jobs. Maybe technology does more harm than good after all.

When it comes to employment opportunities, technology has done it's quota, albeit negatively. Many people have been let off because technology has taken their place. I once read that in China, there are places that robots are used to serve in restaurants. The restaurants started with waiters and waitresses, but with the advent of technology they let them off. There are many job positions that have been occupied by robots or artificial intelligence. But all in all, the advent of technology has done more harm than good.

I believe in the saying: As the world turns, it's best you turn with it". This is applicable here. If machines are being accused of taking people's job, it's because the people refuse to go the extra mile. And that's by the way, because as far as am concerned, nothing has created more jobs than technology. As a matter of fact, I can't even imagine what my life would look like without computers and smart phones

Artificial intelligence is something that is causing a lot of issues in the world . Many jobs will be lost due to use of Robots in some areas like security , self driving cars etc .
However these advance in technology still need human help to be able to function properly ,so it won't completely take away human job .

Unfortunately technology advancement always comes with reduction in the number of manpower needed to perform a task. But as scientists and inventors are looking for ways to develop artificial intelligence that will simplify our work, we as humans are expected to improve and push ourselves to be in a position we will have the competitive advantage to remain relevant in the scheme of things.

Innovation is something that will keep happening, and there's nothing we can do to stop it, all we need to do is to think of how to stay ahead of the competition.

I will say yes,because most of the work that people should be doing the machine has take their place.
For example in the banking environment instead of cashier they have machine that serve as a cashier and because of this they drove away many of their workers.

Unemployment is increasing as the technology increased. Because of the new innovation they key sectors in some company handle by many people has been changed with robots this days.

you're right maybe it won't completely take away human job but you will agree with me that it is lessening the amount of work that humans have to do. This means that fewer people will be employed because the work that 20 people are supposed to do one person can use a machine to do it so what about the other 19? There without a job so you see this is what technological advancement can cause but like someone has said we also need to push ourselves to the Limit.

Innovation is here to stay and it is something that will keep coming up and there's nothing we can do to stop it, I like it that it is for the good of every one.

So it is up to everyone to accept that technology advancement will bring both negative and positive but hopefully it brings more good than bad.. Well the bad always comes with reduction in the number of man of power needed to perform a task.

The good thing at this point is that scientists and inventors are looking for ways to develop artificial intelligence that will simplify the work for users. So all we need do now as humans is to improve and push ourselves for good jobs.
