Some of the possible disadvantage of becoming your own boss is literally the fact that you get to carry all business activities and responsibilities or by yourself, and even if the source of you being your own boss is not through business or offline but rather online, you would not have anyone to advise you but rather carry out all decisions and opinions all by yourselves and most of the times these decisions and opinions may not be the right choice and opinions. I think being self employed carries even more risk than being employed by someone. It's common that we want to have control over our time and sense of self by being employed but most people become lazy once they no longer have that external pressure to go the extra mile.

I like to tell people that before quitting or retiring, have a business that has been running for at least 5 years. This way you know exactly what you are doing.

If you are your own boss that means you will actually employ a lot of people and you have your own business in the sense that you do not have to depend on other people to pay you on monthly basis before you make your money. You also have the right to fire them at anytime you want depending on the kind of contract you have with such people in your business venture.

Another thing is that no one can actually fire you from the job because it is yours and you have the right over it 100%.

But the truth is that everything that have advantage also have a disadvantage because if you're your own boss and you are running a business every risk involved in the business will be taken by you. If anything happens to the business, you youl lose all the money yourself and nobody will actually be there to lose with you. People that have businesses take a lot of risks for them to succeed.
