Let's make this thread sort of an idea thread where we share hacks on how to land a job in an efficient way and set yourself apart from other applicants.
If you want to apply to a certain job at a company, before applying search the company on LinkedIn and see the people working in the company, send them an invite and message them, especially if they're in the same department you want to get into, ask them specific questions about the company and act concerned about them genuinely, after becoming familiar with them, send in your application and then ask for a referral.
Most people will be willing to refer you, if you come across as a great colleague to have around.
