On 18 February 2022, Canada's Ontario Superior Court of Justice sent a "Mareva injunction", ordering Nunchuck Bitcoin Wallet to freeze the bitcoins of those involved in the Freedom Convoy 2022 movement, and provide account holders' information. Nunchuk Wallet laughed off this, making new controversy between Canada and Bitcoin.
Nunchuck Wallet explicitly stated that it is only a software provider, the blockchain can only be opened with a private key, the provider has no access to owners' wallet and their digital assets.
In its reply, Nunchuck Wallet also advised them to learn blockchain technology before issuing such things; That was fine too, but they further added that their wallet would serve them when the Canadian dollar will become worthless.
Nunchuck Wallet even made this public by tweeting on 19 February 2022. People joked a lot over this, some mocked Canadian Government, some advised Nunchuck not to use such language as it may cause them trouble; Interestingly, Coinbase exchange owner Brain Armstrong sparked further speculation by retweeting that tweet.
