When I saw the pottery in one of my travels in the rural area it was a surprise that they were still using the traditional way of making clay pots. The material is clay soil that is watered and mixed with an ingredient (I was not able to ask). A carabao is used to make the wooden mixer rotate until the soil is properly mixed with other ingredients. What follows is the molding or shaping of the pots before it will be baked.
It looked to me as hard work but the owner said that it is easy work. The only problem is the selling because in the rural area such items are cheap otherwise no one will buy it. That pricing made me think of a potential business. Why not bring the factory to the city so that the finished products can be easily transported to the market?
