Freelancing is one of the popular methods to make money online. Freelancing pays well, so you might even earn a full-time income. However, freelancing comes with a price.

Pros of being a freelancer:

You might not earn even a buck by writing 1000 words on forums or article sites, but the same length of written work can easily fetch you $10-$20 on a freelancing platform.

You can take on multiple projects at once, so there will be no dearth of work.

Cons of being a freelancer

You will have to actively work to generate income. On the day you cannot work you will not earn.

Even though there are numerous platforms for freelancers, it is really difficult to secure freelancing jobs because the market is competitive.

You will have to constantly upskill yourself to earn better, you might not earn just with one skill.

You will have to lower your rate in order to secure your freelancing contract.

There are as much disadvantages to freelancing as there are advantages. The advantages are as follows.
1. No 9 to 5 job. Hence you have a lot of free time to yourself, unlike the normal job time if morning till evening.
2. You are your own boss. You are not answerable to anyone and not under anyone's command. You set your own working time and payment rate.
3. No transportation hassles. It is quite stressful jumping into transit every day, freelancing allows you to work and warm money from the comfort of your home.

The disadvantages include:
1. Less social interaction. Since you are not really going out, you relate with less people. It's always you and your computer alone.
2. Less networking. You might not be able to meet people that might help you attain greater heights.
3. Too much comfort. You are always inside and comfortable. Exercising might even be hard for you.
