Workplace safety is a huge concern for employers and employees alike. According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, there were 4,547 fatal work injuries in the United States in 2017. That’s an average of 12 deaths per day.
Employers have a responsibility to provide a safe working environment for their employees. This includes implementing safety policies and procedures, providing training, and ensuring that employees are properly equipped to do their jobs safely.
Employees also have a responsibility to stay safe on the job. They should always follow the safety policies and procedures put in place by their employer.
There are a variety of workplace hazards that can lead to injuries or fatalities. According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the leading causes of death in the workplace are:
-Motor vehicle accidents
-Falls
-Struck by object
-Caught in/between objects
The mentioned above are some of the most leading cause of deaths in the workplace.
