Brands face many challenges on social media and to stay proactive in addressing such problems is important for maintaining a good online image. Key issues include negative comments and feedback, crisis management, maintaining a constant brand voice, algorithm changes, privacy concerns, competition landscape, handling trolls and online harassment, adapting to new platforms, balancing quantity versus quality of content, ROI measurement as well as adapting to changes in trends and employee advocacy management.

In order to address these challenges brands must do so quickly and professionally; have a crisis management plan in place; consistently maintain the same brand voice; be informed about algorithm changes; prioritize data security and adapt to new platforms. They should also deal with trolls and online harassment; adapt to new platforms; strike a balance between quality and quantity of content; measure Return on Investment (ROI); adapt to trend changes; and establish clear guidelines for employee advocacy. By being aware of these challenges and taking proactive actions towards them, brands can conquer the complexities of social media leading to stronger positive net presence.
