People with disabilities have faced special hurdles in their careers, yet they've shown impressive persistence and willpower. They've gone up against stereotypes and obstacles, but still, many have done well in all sorts of jobs. Campaigns for rights and bringing these issues to light have made workspaces more welcoming. Programs that offer education and improve skills have given people with disabilities the tools they need. New technology has been important too, with gadgets that help people work better. The chance to work from home and guidance from mentors have opened up even more job possibilities. Work environments that welcome everyone, and businesses started by those same individuals, are now easier to find and help build a community feel. All this work is moving us toward a time when people with disabilities find it easier to fit into the workforce.
