The Importance of Line Managers in an Organization.

Many organizations are structured in a way that the top management team oversees everything. This method has proven to be inefficient and unable to provide effective achievement of goals. There is a need for what we call Line Managers. Line Managers are people I call grassroots managers. They are the first layer of management. Line Managers are managers who supervise and lead small teams in an organization. No matter the size of your organization, it is important to break it into small trams of say 4 people and let a Line Manager be in charge of the team.

One important advantage of having line managers in an organization is that you bring management closer to the employees and they feel a sense of belonging. Another thing that makes Line Management desirable is that the employees would be better motivated when supervised by someone they perceive as one of their own. It is easy for the Line Manager to communicate and motivate them at a personal level, thereby creating a healthy working relationship.
