Advertising is a very powerful tool. It has the ability to influence our behaviour, whether it's buying a new car or choosing a particular brand or product. Marketers use it to help their customers make decisions that will benefit them. They can also use it to influence consumers’ attitudes and behaviour, which is why it is important to understand the effect advertising can have on consumers.

Advertising is also a very effective way of making people feel good about themselves. People are more likely to buy something if they think it's going to make them look better or feel better about themselves. And this is true for both men and women - men are just as prone as women to buy things when they see an ad that makes them look good.

So how can you use advertising in your business? There are two main ways:

Advertising is a method of communication that attempts to persuade an audience to take a specific action or develop a particular attitude. This action or attitude may be to purchase a product or service, and/or to change the behavior of the audience in some way. Advertising is used extensively in many different kinds of marketing media, including:

Print advertising: Advertisements printed in newspapers, magazines and other periodicals.

Transportation advertising: Ads placed on billboards and buses, trains, subways and so forth.

The Internet: Internet-based ads are generally known as "banner ads," although they can also be placed on websites themselves.

Radio: Radio ads are either bumper stickers that come attached to cars (as you'd see on your windshield), or radio spots which run during programs like talk radio shows or big band music stations.

Television commercials: These run between programs on television networks. They are usually 30 seconds long and include one or two actors talking about their product, along with some product footage thrown into the mix for good measure.
