NDIS may consider renting assistive technology is better value for money for a child given the likelihood of the child outgrowing the technology relatively quickly.
  • Need to specify why the item needs to be rented.
  • Specify the duration of the rental period.
  • Long-term rental may not be cost-effective.
  • Rental meets NDIS funding criteria.
  • For items under $15,000, provide evidence from assistive technology advisor on rental cost.
  • For items over $15,000, a quote is required for rental funding approval.
