What evidence is needed for tablet/computer-based assistive tech?

The NDIS doesn't usually cover the cost of buying or renting a tablet or computer for using assistive technology because they're considered day-to-day living cost.

To determine if an exception can be made, individuals must provide evidence that proves their disability requires the device.

When submitting the evidence, the participant should remember that:
  • The evidence must be provided regardless of the device's cost.
  • The evidence must come in written form from an assistive technology advisor.
  • It should confirm that the device is the best solution for the participant's disability support needs.
