What if an assistive tech of an NDIS participant needs repairs?

  • The NDIS provides funding for repairs and maintenance of powered mobility devices or prostheses older than 2 years.
  • If major repairs are necessary and the participant lacks sufficient funding, they may need to submit a quote to their local area coordinator, early childhood partner, or planner.
  • Replacing damaged or broken assistive technology may be preferable to repairing it in some cases.
  • In such cases, the NDIS can adjust the participant's plan to allocate funding for the replacement of their assistive technology.
