Don't overlook secondhand stores like Goodwill and Salvation Army. With some digging, you can find quality professional staples at a fraction of retail price. Shop often, as inventory changes frequently.

Department Store Sales

Stores like JCPenney, Kohl's and Macy's regularly run huge markdowns on workwear essentials. Check clearance racks for deeply discounted items.

Outlet Malls

Brick and mortar outlet stores from major brands offer professional attire at reduced prices. Look for extra savings around major holidays and sales events.

Discount Retailers

Stores like TJ Maxx, Marshall's and Ross often carry brand name workwear marked way down. Visiting frequently can yield cheap finds.

Amazon

Search Amazon for affordable yet office-appropriate styles. Scan user reviews to assess quality before purchasing. Opt for Prime to try clothes and easily return free.

Consignment Shops

Higher-end consignment boutiques offer pre-owned workwear from luxury brands at a fraction of the original price. Many pieces will be gently used.

I had to learn how to be a shopping savvy while on an unpaid internship. I was expected to wear professional clothes yet I did not earn much per month. So I started shopping at thrift stores and buying street second hand clothes. Indeed you can get really good clothes at very cheap prices.

Another great source of cheap professional clothes is at the local tailoring shops. I have one near my home and the tailor makes for me dresses and official trousers at a cheap rate.
