Why applying for a marketing officer position is risky

A marketing officer is one who is in charge of marketing of whatever product or service that the company is involved with. One example is a marketing officer of a printing press. It is your duty to find customers. Another example is the bank marketing officer with the duty of finding depositors.

At the outset it looks easy because finding a customer is not really difficult. However, the customers or projects that you have to find are the big ones. In the bank, your sister may not qualify for a big depositor unless you are from a wealthy family. The risk in this kind of job is when you fail to hit the quota then you will be terminated from your job.

I think a marketing position is risky or not depends on where you are applying. If you are applying for a company that already has a huge market, I don't think there is much to work and the job is more secured. But if you are applying for a new company, it can be risky because you need to create a market for the products.
