In my retirement years I was lucky that there was a new law for the benefit of the seniors in our country. The first benefit that I availed of was the discount on food and groceries. Whenever I would buy a meal from a fast food I get a 30% discount with the use of my senior card. Think if every day I would be buying a fast food meal that discount card could make me save a lot of money. However, the discount is only applicable to the food for the senior which means if I buy for my family then I only get a discount on 1 item even if I buy 5 items.
Another benefit is the falling in line. In the bank where a queue is always the order of the day, a senior is exempted from lining up. Some banks have seats for seniors only. Even in the supermarket there is a cashier for the seniors so we don’t have to be in the long line of ordinary shoppers. It’s nice to realize that seniors here are given priority. What about in your country?
