A group of film directors are banding together for a project of a drive-in movie. They said that even in the pandemic era the drive-in movie has no problem with the protocols against covid particularly the social distancing. When I said that a drive-in movie needs a huge capital that’s when I learned their plan of constructing the drive-in movie in a land situated in a suburban town.
A big land in the suburban area is much cheaper and can be bought at installment. The plan is to purchase 5 hectares that will accommodate the vehicles of their customers. It looks like a good project that is profitable but the issue is the customers. The place is about 2 hours drive from Manila so will the movie goers travel that far just to see a movie in a drive-in theater? The movies that will be shown will be exclusive only to the drive-in and will not be shown in any other means. Let us wait and see for more developments.
