It's not actually a new thing that you can earn money from your social media accounts and the common way to do this is to use it's as a way to promote goods and services to attract customers to patronize your goods especially if you have a lot of followers and contacts as for the WhatsApp method of earning.
Looking at your writeup, I don't see any other way you can earn money aside this and I guess it's a topic most people already know about except Maybe for the newbies.

During the festive season, many sold alot of things online and they really made a good sum of money from the whole stuff. I personally did patronize someone through WhatsApp and that can be counted as one of the benefits of using social media to advertise one's product.

Yes it's actually very possible to earn something very decent with our social media accounts, I know of people who are making a living with their social media accounts. You just need to decide on what you want to do and go for it. Though the beginning is usually the hardest but once you can over that, then you are good to go.
