It's probably ludicrous, I guess but you can actually make a lot of money from creating an app, and why I said its ludicrous is because most people don't have the skill set to creating an app, but nowadays things are much more easy, you can just design an app with no code.
I don't know how but I know there are sites out there that can help you out.
If you can build something that piques your audience's interest, an app has a lot of potential. You'll need to think about how to make the most money with your app. You may, for example, employ in-app advertisements or charge users a small price to download the software.
If your app becomes popular or you receive feedback, you'll almost certainly need to add new features to maintain it current and popular.
I think the highest rish here is that you might be wasting your time. Or wasting your money, though they is low financial risk if you don't invest money on the project or if you invest little, but i mean if you can't develop an app your self you'll have to get third party help which will and should be a lot of money
