Education or learning a skill, which one is better?

Education is more important than skill. As today a lot of people have ton of skills but they didn’t know how to behave with parents?, how to keep relationship,? how to handle any occasion ? How to face any difficulty without making any disturbance or without giving unhappiness to anyone.? As carrier is more important so we are losing these important things in our life . If we have lost our carrier we can manage another carrier for life but if we lost our loving ones we didn’t get back these people at any cost.

The academic education helps you in understanding the concepts behind the technology, science, society or whatever field you choose, but skill development is the thing that will help you in creating solutions and products, get a good job in a company, or become an entrepreneur.

But to sum it all up, it is the best of you have both.
We may get a job with our Skill-set but never with our Education.
Education without the skill would be as empty as the skill without the Education.

Both education and skill are important to live a respectable life as education gives you knowledge, manners and teach you to deal with people and gives you confidence to handle the difficult times of your life. However with learned skills, you can live a good life financially as with learned skills, you get jobs in a respectful companies and you can also start your own online business by giving your skilled services to people.

EDUCATION: as it has been,is something that is termed as a compulsory thing to acquire.
If one is not educated, it is not to his or her own gain.

Well,the system of Nigeria has turned,that people are not able to get what they want easily with their school Credentials; except, through connections. If they are connected with some prominent people at the top who can help them get a position quickly with the kind of credentials you carry.

Acquiring of skills is really vital also.
It will be more advisable to be educated and to be skillful.
If you are skillful, you will be able to tackle your financial issues.

Do not push aside learning a skill.
Spend some time in Education, and some time to learn a skill.
You should be able to balance both.

Both are better, education without skill is one of the problems most graduate face nowadays as they don't have any skill and what they can result to is to use their certificate to look for a white-collar job and every organisation or company even government job is saturated.
i heard a story of two graduate that apply for a job they both have the same grade and they all perform better but they need to choose only one person s in the course of the interview they noticed one have the skill why the other lack skill. and the one with skill is given the job.

Yeah that true if you have a skill without education is just a waste of time cause as you have said they this is what most youth face now youth also need a certificate to get a good job to show out skill or talent give to you as you said you heard about a store that two friends apply for a job and went for an interview and there we only allowed to choose one person to work with them so they choose one among the two friends the one that has skill between both has been chosen that education and skill is good

If you want to survive in life. Skills are enough. We can learn it through experience. Repetition of something can build up skills but that skill is not that very demanded by the world.

Education remains one of the best legacies anyone could possess. No amount of skill a person could possess that would overshadow education. You need education to reach your full potential in life.

It is a fact all over the world that a trade or skill is as valuable as a formal education. It is quite unfair that some of us live in a society that values certificates more. But that's rapidly changing as we now have more graduates than available jobs.So, therefore, it is wise to take a step forward by grooming yourself through the acquisition of a valuable skill, coupled with acquiring a formal education which would be like an icing to the cake. Education and skills are both very important things that an individual can have. The good thing about this is that an individual can have both, you don't need to choose between them. So many people have Education but in our society today only education does not guarantee someone's success due to the high rate of unemployment, so the best solution to this is to just juxtapose your education with a good skill that you can use to fend for yourself in the absence of a job.

You make a good point although,both skills learning and education is good for all human to have in life ... Because might have only skills at hand but when you go search for job and the opportunity on ground is base on education so you are going to loose the job offer ,and when you are educated as well and you go searching for job and the job opportunity at hand is also based on skills ,automatically you won't get the job as well... Having a skill is quite encouraged especially in low tier countries where job opportunity is very scarce , however education is very important .
With education , the skill learnt can be effectively utilized in a good way that will show expertise.

It is good to learn both because they are both important, in as much as a skill will make you be your own boss and earn alot, in the society we are in, most people wont value you if you do not have an educational qualification/degree. Hence it is important to get your degree and still learn a skill, because having a degree alone might not help you aswell, there are lots of graduates without employment, even someone with first class is still unemployed, by knowing a skill very well, you can startup your own business and become successful in it.

Education without skill to me is nothing. In this world of ours a lot of people have degrees. Educational degrees that are mouth watering and yet they are still poor. With the whole educational knowledge of Karl Marx he died of poverty and chronic sickness. But a man skills make way for him. My opinion is that both are important. Going to school to learn one course or the other is not bad idea. Skill without education is meaningless. It seems people have wrong notion about education. They always believe that when you are educated, you will automatically become rich. This is not so, education is meant to make us better in thinking and reasoning. Well, for me Education is still the key. Getting a skill isn’t bad at all, but one thing I know is that education helps to sharpen whatever skills we might acquire. I'll probably go for a skill over education.

The reason is education is very relative anybody that can read and write can learn anything, I think we have been brainwashed about education, most of us go to school with the thought of graduating and landing a good job and the problem is that rarely happens, but those that have skills already will be able to make money way before they get to graduate because skill is value, whenever you add value to someone he will give you a value voucher also known as money, but school can only give you education through different discipline and the essence of this is get you acquainted with how life works and also a working knowledge in the field you decide to major in.

We have to understand the differences between the two, most skills will teach you how to add value to people and earn in return, while education is just an enlightenment.

Anybody can get educated through self study and he'll be good, so I don't think going to school is of any importance.

In conclusion I'll choose skill over education, because literacy is basically the ability to read and write, and if you know how to do this anything you add on top is just extra

Education is very important and so is learning skills, nevertheless, we need to look at our ability in the environment we find ourselves to make decisions. Now a person who is from an average home and could go to school as far as the secondary level and is thinking of furthering his or her education should consider his ability and that of his or her parents. If you do not have the money to further your education or you do not have people who can sponsor you, I don't see any reason for you to get all worked up about it when you can make money and further later in life.

Making money is not an easy task but you can do that and be successful when you learn skills. In a country like ours you need to consider the fact that even those who go to school come back to unemployment and end up learning a skill or two to make ends meet, so it is good to learn skills so that you can make money. I have seen married people, and matured individuals go to school. For those who can afford it it is good to go to school, it is advice able to learn skills nevertheless at least for a year before furthering your education.​

Education or learning a skill? That's a question that has been debated since the dawn of time. One side says that education is the key to success and a better life, while others say that learning a skill will give you more opportunities for success.

The truth is, both are necessary for success. If you want to get ahead in life, you need both education and a skill set. There are plenty of people with skills who don't have degrees, but there are also many with degrees who lack skills. So what do these two things have in common? They both take time to develop, snd they both require practice!

A degree isn't going to be enough if you don't put it into practice at least once every day. And if you don't practice your skills every day, then they'll never improve. The best way to learn is through reading books and doing hands-on work (or playing games) until your mind can't take anymore information, then sleeping on it! Then wake up refreshed and do it all again tomorrow! You'll be amazed at how much progress you make over time.
