Termination of employment means the end of a worker or an employee’s work with an organisation. So when you are employed you can also be laid off

Termination.can be voluntary or involuntary. The voluntary termination is always about a worker leaving the job on their own for whatever reasons. While involuntary termination happens when a company layoff, downsizes, or even fires a worker on their own

There's sometimes severance packages for terminated employees though it depends on the organisation but they are discretionary, So some organisations might not need to offer them to any worker when such employees employment is terminated.
