Heart attack is also known as myocardial infarction. It is defined as myocardial means the heart muscle and infarction means death tissue. It is occurs when the blood supply to the part of the heart is interrupted and leads the death of heart muscles. Heart attack may be caused by blood clot in coronary arteries. It is a medical emergency and cause the leading death for both men and women all over the world .
Severe chest pain is the most common symptom of myocardial infarction and may be in the form of sensation of tightness , pressure or squeezing. Pain radiates most often to left arm , but may also radiate to Lower jaw , neck, right arm and back.. Loss of consciousness and even sudden death can occur in myocardial infarction.
Approximately one fourth of all myocardial infarction are silent i.e with out chest pain or other symptoms. A silent heart attack is more common in the elderly in patients with diabetes mellitus and after heart transplantation .
Immediate treatment for suspected acute myocardial infarction includes oxygen supply, aspirin or sublingual tablet of glyceryl trinitrate. Most cases of myocardial infarction are treated with angioplasty or bypass surgery.
Angioplasty means mechanical widening of a narrowed or totally obstructed blood vessels.
And bypass surgery means surgery in which arteries or veins from elsewhere Ii n the patient,s body are grafted to the coronary arteries to improve blood supply to heart muscle.
Angina pectoris means chest pain. It is not severe as heart attack. The pain may occur in left arm or in shoulder. It is a warning sign that blood supply to heart muscles I is not sufficient but shortage is not enough to cause tissue death .

The heart attach procedure is a procedure that involves sewing up the hole in your heart to prevent blood from leaking out. It's used to treat congenital heart defects.

If you have a heart defect, you may need to get treated with a heart attach procedure. This is because if the hole in your heart gets bigger or larger over time, blood may leak out and cause you problems with your heart, lungs, or brain. The most common type of congenital heart condition is called transposition of the great arteries. This means that instead of having two sets of arteries going through your heart (as you would have if you were born with two right ventricles), one set runs through your left ventricle instead of straight down into the right ventricle as it should.

If this happens to a baby who has been born with transposition of the great arteries and then goes on to develop another type of congenital heart defect later in life; they are more likely than other people with this condition to have another type of congenital heart defect as well.

If you have symptoms of heart attach, there are some things you can do at home to help reduce the pain and swelling from your condition. These include taking over-the-counter painkillers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen, drinking plenty of fluids (water is best), resting for several hours per day, and avoiding caffeine and alcohol.

In order to prevent from heart attack we need to control our high blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol level on priority. Major contributing factor of heart disease is high blood pressure as when heart pump blood with great pressure then work load on it increases and so it won't remain able to perform normal function. If all required precautions are taking place at this stage with prescribed medicine then a person may live somewhat a normal life on the other hand continous abusing the health guideline may lead to heart attack. Daily walking plays very important role to keep fit our heart and so it can pump blood normally and its working will improve.
