Amazon Associates is a program that allows you to earn advertising fees by promoting Amazon products on your site or blog. You can make money by linking to the products you wish to advertise, and when a reader clicks through your link and buys something, you will receive a commission.
To become an Amazon Associate, you must first apply. Once accepted, you will be able to begin earning money by promoting products such as books, DVDs and electronics. There are three different types of associates: Individual Associates (individuals), Small Business Associates and Professional Merchants.
Individuals can earn up to 10 percent commissions with no monthly fees or minimums if they meet the following criteria:
Have at least one personal website or blog with original content.
They must also maintain a minimum of 50 posts per month across their blogs or websites.
Small Business Associates must meet all of the same requirements as individual affiliates but they will receive higher commissions on their sales - up to 15 percent for non-media products sold by Amazon.com, Audible.com, IMDbPro and other affiliated companies.
