A VA or Virtual Assistant is an expert who works remotely (typically in another country) to help individuals with clerical or technical tasks. Private contractors are the most common working arrangement for virtual assistants. Some virtual assistants (VAs) acquire clients on their own, while others rely on agencies. They come in a wide range of specializations and levels of experience. What if you have little to no experience? Can you still work as a Virtual Assistant? The answer is YES. If you have the desire to work from home and earn some extra money, becoming a virtual assistant is a viable option. To succeed as a virtual assistant, all you have to do is put in the prep work and acquire the relevant skills and personality qualities.

Recognize your Skills
Figuring out which of your skills are your strongest will get you started on the path to being a virtual assistant. Although you do not have a lot of experience, you may convince potential employers of your qualifications for the job by putting together a résumé that emphasizes your clerical skills.

Establish your Price and Service Offerings
If you know ahead of time what kinds of work you are capable of and ready to take on, you will be in a better position to attract clients and land gigs. Find out how much you will charge for such services, in addition to listing them. It is common practice for virtual assistants to set hourly, or weekly fees, while others want to be paid on a project-by-project basis.

Acquire the Necessary Equipment
The type of equipment needed to carry out the services you plan to provide can be established once you have decided on those services. While some VAs get by with just a laptop and mobile phone, others may require extra hardware to handle the volume of work they take on.

After you have everything mentioned above, look for a job. Do not forget to build your portfolio. Create a website and make sure to update all your social media platforms.
