Some co-workers are why skilled manipulator and always want to show superior tendencies. They always want others to do what they want and ever the other way round.You need to first recognize that you are been manipulated. This will help you to adopt strategies that will disarm them. Doing this will aid in protecting yourself. So how can you achieve this?
- Start with showing less interest in what concerns that. Do not try to fuel the egos by showing interest in what they want done.
- Try to always act bored when they are around. Manipulators want a reaction from you. You shouldn’t give into it.
- Do your assigned work only and create boundaries. If you can’t help a co-worker that you know wants to manipulate you to help out. Just go ahead to say a firm No.
- Avoid apologizing for what you know it’s no problem of yours. Let the manipulator clean the mess or you move away.
