The Network for Empowerment of Journalists in Ukraine (Podporozhye Ukraine) started cryptocurrency radio-show to provide audience with necessary information on cryptocurrency-technology, in particular about the security of the technology and funds. Podporozhye Ukraine has a strong support from major Ukrainian news portals. The main objective is to inform the audience about the opportunities and risks of cryptocurrency in Ukraine and explain their importance for the media industry, according to the company.
The Ukrainian News Agency interviewed Dmytro Yakobchuk, one of the leaders of Podporozhye Ukraine, about the cryptocurrency radio-show.
"The show has two parts. It is part of the technology that allows to transfer one cryptocurrency to another. This is not a technology that is widely popular in Ukraine. For example, while everyone can create digital money and transfer it to another person, creating and transfer to each other cryptocurrencies is difficult for various reasons, for example, anonymity," he said.
He said that the second part of the show introduces users to cryptocurrencies and helps them understand their real application and purpose.
"These are topics that the show should explain to the audience, to introduce them to cryptocurrency technology. The audience should be able to understand and draw conclusions themselves," he said.
"The crypto-community is not the right place to discuss politics. We tried not to touch this topic. I think it was a success, that we were able to explain cryptocurrency in a topical manner without propaganda. We explained cryptocurrency with the most valuable aspects to our audience, and kept it as simple as possible for them," he said.
Yakobchuk said that the cryptocurrency radio-show has been appreciated by the media, as well as the audience.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in the first quarter of 2018, according to Ukrainian investment consultancy Studiya-Economics, 16.6% of households considered cryptocurrency one of the alternatives to property and cash.
Topics for discussion in the upcoming episodes of the podcast, where producers and podcasters would be the authors, include a possibility of using cryptocurrencies for business, as well as cases of people who have made a great deal of money. The show would talk about legal issues, and about risks and threats to the cryptocurrency industry.
