Is cryptocurrency mining for everyone?

Cryptocurrency mining sounds exciting but is it really for ordinary folks? The technology behind digital coins like Bitcoin is mind-bendingly complex. Mining requires specialized and costly hardware that consumes huge amounts of electricity. It also demands tech-savvy expertise most people don't have. While the potential for huge profits is tantalizing, the risks are enormous. For every miner who strikes it rich, many more end up losing money. Unless you're a technical whiz with money to burn, crypto mining may be best left to the pros. The average American is better off sticking to more straightforward investments.

Well, I don't consider mining as a profitable source of income anymore. It brings less profit since ETH switched to PoS and electricity became more expensive.
