Personal finance is a very important topic that everyone needs to be skilled at. This is because we all make money and there is need to spend it well so as to not go broke or get into debt.

Learning personal finance is something that people should have been taught from a young age. Unfortunately, most of our school curriculums don't include it as basic education. That is why most people learn it as adults.

The internet has been a great resource to learn anything, including personal finance. So you don't have to sit through a whole four year financial management course so as to know how to manage your money.

The resources that offer personal finance learning guides in the internet include;

  1. Videos and tutorials from YouTube and other platforms.
  2. Blogs and Journals.
  3. Short courses in sites such as Udemy and Coursehero - you will have to pay a small fee to learn with them.
  4. Audios and podcasts.
  5. Forums and social media platforms.

When choosing the best resources and platforms to learn about personal finance, you need to consider the following tips;

  • The platform or resource should specifically be on the personal finance niche.
  • Prioritize sites or resources where the guide is given by a professional. i.e subscribe to YouTube videos by professional financial managers or download books written by an experienced and knowledgeable personal finance coach.
As you go out to learn about personal finance on the internet, don't trust everything you learn and don't try to do everything you are told. Experiment first then stick with what works for you.
