Tailoring may be as old as man itself and up till now, this career has never faded away, rather it keeps on waxing, changing names. These days, it is commonly called fashion designer. However, to be a successful fashion designer, these may some tips.

It is better to know the trendy fashion styles. This many be gotten by getting some books and magazines about fashion where latest styles are displayed.

Also, it is better to be running unisex styles, this may make it easier for the customers to be patronizing, both the female and male.

Starting a Career in tailoring can be a game changer for you if you have passion for tailoring, it's a lucrative business because people will forever have needs for clothing and if you are good in your craft they'll consult you and you'll have enormous supply of jobs, just getting started you'll need expertise, this can be gained through enrollment to a tailoring school.

Also get yourself a tailor that you'll be practicing at home, you can become a decent tailor in six months and from there you can get a shop and start taking I'm clients, and even get other people to work with you.

To succeed with a tailoring career, you would need to have two attributes which I consider very vital. One is creativity. It takes creativity to imagine a design and create it in reality. It takes creativity to see a design for the first time and reproduce it.

Another attribute that is very necessary for a fashion designer is intuition. The ability to discern without a fixed formula what could be done. There are designs that you handle and you get to a point where it is like all logical ideas don't work. You have to infer and find what to do that would work.
