Stop Eating Red Meat Now!!!

1. Heart Health
– The American Heart Association recommends that you consume fish at least twice a week, and red meat no more than once a week. Why? Red meat has high levels of saturated fats which can increase cholesterol in your body, over time leading to heart disease. Fish such as salmon and tuna are rich in omega-3’s which reduce inflammation and can help prevent heart disease. Adding more fish to your diet and reducing red meat consumption could help you avoid common health issues such as heart attack, stroke, and other heart-related conditions.

2. Cancer Prevention – Studies have shown that limiting red meat consumption can reduce the risk of developing certain cancers. Red meats are linked to an increased risk for colorectal cancer, while poultry is less likely to be linked to cancer development. One study showed that if you replace 3% of daily calories from red meat with plant proteins, such as beans or nuts, then you could lower your risk of early death by 34%. Other studies show that eating fish may lower the risk of breast cancer by up to 20%.

3. Diabetes Prevention - A diet including a variety of fruits and vegetables will help control diabetes better than one high in animal proteins.
