Money can be defined as a medium of exchange. This medium can be in the form of coins and banknote. Money is a recognised medium of exchange for transactional purpose. In the society we live on today, the more money you have, the more you're been recognised in the society.
This medium of exchange can be very tough to get for some people, this leads them to getting into illegal acts just to make quick money which society have frowned upon. Impatient people who gave up working in the quest of looking for a better and easy way to make fortune are now making the society harder and tougher for us. I'm going to base my article on the ways termed illegal and are frowned on by the society(I'm not advising you to indulge in any of these, this is for educational purpose).
1. Kidnapping: This is one of the most dangerous one can make money. Kidnapping has gone rampant over the years, most of us want to be rich or have quick money without working for it. They view kidnapping as a good get rich quick method because people get large sum of money after forcing kidnapped victims and their family into paying large sum of money. In Nigeria today, people no longer move freely on highways as it used to be. Even in residential areas, people are abducted from their houses by these criminals especially in low density populated areas. All these are done just for the sake of money.
2. Drug trafficking: Drug trafficking is the illegal trading of drug. It is also termed as the global black market dedicated to the distribution and sales of prohibited drugs. Prohibited drugs such as cocaine, tobacco, cannabis, marijuana etc are still smuggled into the country even when this hard drugs has being prohibited for long. People still smuggle drugs because of the huge amount of money they get from selling these hard drugs. A 15kg of cocaine can cost up to $500 and even higher in some countries, which is a good deal and quick way of making money for some people. When caught, offenders can face a very serious jail term and even face life in prison. Be careful and beware of packages given to you by someone else when traveling as there could be drugs hidden in them. Make sure you check any parcel to be transported as this will protect you against any drug setup.
3. Robbery/Theft: Robbery is the act of taking someone's property unlawfully using forceful means. Robbery is a very serious crime and offenders will face serious punishment. Armed robbery is the use of weapons (guns, matchets, knifes) for the forceful collection of items, goods and properties that does not belong to them. Armed robbery has gone high over the years and mostly affects developing countries. People who engage in this act have no feelings and human sympathy. People get hurt or are subjected to different kind of inhuman act or even killed when they resist or refuse to comply to their needs. Robbery is bad and frowned on in the society, therefore, no one should engage in it.
4. Hacking: Hacking refers to the activities of identifying weaknesses in a computer system/network for the purpose of exploiting the security so as to gain access into personal data. People who hack gain unauthorized access to data that does not belong to them. One of the newest method used by hackers is by breaking into ones computer, locking it up and then demand ransom to unlock it. There are also scammers who haven't hacked into your computer but are simply playing on people's fear of being hacked and humiliated. Hacking is not legal except in some security cases used by cyber securities. You can't just bump into someone's website, install a virus and then later demand some huge sum of money in order for the virus to be removed, you're just playing around with people's head just because you have some coding skills. Instead use this skill in a more positive way for the betterment of the society and the world at large.
5. Catfishing: Catfishing is a term used to refer to a person who takes information and images from other people using them to create a fake profile/identity for themselves. Catfishers steals other individual's complete information. This may include images, date of birth and location. They pretend it belongs to them and use this identity to trick people into associating with them online. Catfishing is mostly common online, in online dating sites and even Facebook. The catfishers trick their target into believing they are the real owners of the identity and sometimes demand money from their pretty. Beware of people you engage with online, know their true identity before making any online transactions. If possible, meet them physically if it involves any monetary aspect.
Finally why trying to get rich quick illegally is really a bad side hustle idea, one can serve a jail term or serious punishment when caught in this acts. Try to avoid such jobs and get rich quick method. People engage in all of this not because they made a choice to go into them but because they have no other choice since they have no job and suffering in poverty.
Obviously, I wrote this article for educational purpose. Illegal jobs are definitely not the best jobs out there. Try to stay away from them. The highest reward by far still goes to those hustling legally and I wish you good luck throughout your struggles.
