The Role of Gamification in Digital Marketing

The application of game-like characteristics in contexts that are not games to enhance user’s participation, encourage customer fidelity, and stimulate desired actions is known as gamification. In digital marketing, some of the most important aspects of gamification include augmented reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) integration, contests and challenges, incentivizing desired behaviors, progress tracking system , learning and training , social sharing , data collection among others.

To make interactions more fun and interactive can help increase engagement. With many customer loyalty programs, there may be elements of gamification involved to encourage repeat business. Additionally, gamification can be used for some things such as quizzes or polls in marketing campaigns while being able to motivate specific action or behavior types. It can also provide instant feedback and recognition through learning and training by use of gamification. This therefore means that AR/VR technologies integrated into a site can offer immersive experiences by making them feel like games which link the physical with digital worlds.
