General insurance Top reasons why your claims can be rejected by the insurance company

It is on record that an insured should make claims for compensation when there's need for it. But some times these claims might be rejected by the insurance company and no compensation paid. The following might just be the reasons.

False claims

This is one outstanding reason the insurance company might ignore your claims for compensation. If you are claiming what is not true for your loss

Insurance doesn't cover your claims

You don't insure for a car and make claims for land. You can only make claims for exactly what you had insured

You caused the damage or loss

You wouldn't get a compensation from insurance if you incurred losses due to your carelessness or bad behavior. When once this fact is established no compensation for you

What's your thoughts?

actually you are right about your analysis in the write up. Some people who are into insurance policy with a particular insurer do not know this and the ones that know don’t take it seriously the way it should be taken. Some clients are so naive that they will demand for what’s not on their contract

That's always the undoing of a lot of people. You can't get any compensation for what you never contracted for in the first instance. The insurance company know their job and you would be denied outrightly when you come up with claims that doesn't worth their time. So everyone should be on the same page when the contract is on

Yes, many have encountered many unfortunate events of losses where they actually go to their insurance companies and are turned down. This is sometimes due to lack of proper evidence as related to the case you are reporting, or an omission of valuable details that would have helped the said insurance companies to carry out proper investigations.

The duty of an under writer in insurance companies is just to check the claim of the intended insured person. They will check all the documents that he presented to cover their genuity. And if anything happens as well. The will also try to know if it is intentionally or accidentally caused. If there is no claim to prove that it is accidentally caused, there many not be compensation.

Definitely, when once there's there's a case of missing evidence then there's bound to be a rejection. Insurance company work with facts when it comes to claims and until such is established then you can't get any compensation from them. So it is always better to get the facts right before approached them for claims

Yeah you are right evidence presented to the insurance company must be a verified one. Because they will also do their own research and anything that goes contrary to the initial will be rejected no matter the person involved. So it is be an accidental loss or risk before running to insurance for compensation

When registering a claim with your insurance provider, first it could get approved, or second it may get rejected. If the latter happens then it can be very dispiriting, it'll hurt you financially all the while disrupting your peace of mind. So, it is really important to be aware of the situations that can lead to rejection of your claim.

I do advise a person that is new to insurance never to so it alone. I mean, he needs the service of at least agent of he does not have access to a broker. An agent will let him know what to do and the right time for him to do it to avoid rejection.

There is another one to be added , because what if your insurance or claim is affected by natural disasters , I don't think the insurance company would actually make proper consideration or effort to cover such claim since it's already in the rules of many insurance companies operation tho ,

Don't get it confused. Insurance company covers any event that is not intentionally caused. So it can be natural. For instance, there is flood insurance policy that will cover the properties of the purchaser against flood. And we all know that by flood is not caused by human but by natural circumstances.

Flood is not the only natural disaster , what if earth quake happens and the house that is insured got danged , would the insurance company still cover such ?, Flood was specified for a reason and you can go for the policy if the person want to insure his properties against any form of accident too

There are some reasons why insurance companies reject claims by insurance and as such people should always be careful and no exactly the kind of agreement they have with insurance companies in order to avoid problems. People need to understand that insurance companies are running businesses and don't like to go into losses by paying for false claims.

This reminds me of my wife's brother whose car figured in a self-accident when he hit the curb that is extra high. The big damage was on the front of his car. When he filed a claim the insurance said that only 60% of the damage will be covered. He also needs to submit a police report and other documents. The owner decided to just have the damage fixed from his own pocket to save him from stress.
