What Should You Do If Your Business is Compromised by a Bad Manager?

Sometimes, a manager in your organization might decide to be the worst. Maybe they sell trade secrets to a competitor. Maybe they hold a conference call with your company's data and leave their microphone on, so that every time someone sneezes or coughs, it echoes across the boardroom. Maybe they just show up drunk and pass out on the floor.
Whatever the case, if you have to let a manager go, you need to take extra precautions to ensure that they can't compromise your business anymore.

The first thing you need to do is block all of their access points. If they have an email address with your company's domain, shut it down immediately: don't even wait until you've fired them. The second thing is to wipe any devices associated with them (or security cameras, servers, etc.). And finally: change all of your passwords as soon as you know they've been let go. It sucks to have to do this—and it's an inconvenience—but it's necessary for protecting your business' information from those who may want to use it against you.
