Verbal abuse comes with distortion to an employee. it can make an employee feel guilty, have low self esteem, feel humiliated etc. So it must be prevented in the workplace.
So how can verbal abuse be prevented in the workplace
The employer need to first put in place an anti-abuse policy. This means that they should be a zero-tolerance policy that enables employees be given their due respect.
Employees should be alliw to comfortably report instances of abuse. So there should be avenues that this report can be made
They can be frequent meetings where employees are allowed to air their issues and those assigned the task should take it up.
