We have all had this feeling at some point in our work life. Whether you work online or offline, you sometimes just feel the pressure to not go to work. Its not that the body is weak, the mind is just not willing. You feel kind of sad and anxious about how the day will go.

It is completely normal to dread going to work. It is something that everyone has faced at some point in their lives. But if it lasts for several days, then it might be time to look for another job. Here are some tips to deal with it;

  1. Focus your thoughts on other things - dwelling on the feeling of dread and worrying about it just makes it worse. So focus your thoughts on other things like your goals and how best you can get prepared for the day's job.
  2. Get to know the source of your dread and find some solutions to it - it could be your boss, the workload, your relationship with your colleagues or the idea of commuting. There is always a solution to every stressor.
  3. Avoid perfectionism - embrace being okay with the imperfections of life. Accept that work life isn't perfect but you can live through it.
  4. Set realistic goals - try to achieve something daily. Goals help you have something to achieve daily. Then focus your thoughts on how you will achieve the goal rather than on the dread.
  5. Create a routine - routines help you get used to working. But also be flexible when your routine doesn't work out as planned sometimes.

While dreading to go to work is so normal, it can hinder how you work or make you late for work. So use this tips to deal with the feeling and show up at work ready for the day.
