How to eradicate idleness among employees .

Most business organisation's environment today do have employees that are industrious hardworking and diligent in the work assigned to them by their superiors , it could be from their boss , managers , employer etc. But we can't deny the fact that there are some still in existence where its employees are idle , non-industrious , lazy , or sluggish . This indeed is a problem that should be taken care of immediately , because when in advance that could lead to business failure , bankruptcy , liquidation , and folding up . Yet It is important to talk about the causes of employees idleness . One cause of employees idleness is slow decision-making .

when decisions about the business practices and activities are being delayed it makes the workers staffs , an employees is to be idle , they are not fed with the proper information to move on with their daily activities . Delayed decision making is usually caused by poor business management , if the management of the business is runned by an unskilled personnel . In other cases another cause of idleness within employees is "non-compensation of employees " , this is one of the rampart cause of idleness existing among employees , when employees are not compensated for their previous time and energy spent on carry out business objectives and goals it makes them feel sluggish and lazy in carrying out present business activities . Thereby , leading to idleness .
 
It is truly best to fight off idleness among employees. Having sluggish workers does make the productivity of the company really low. It is really best to start by finding out the cause of the idleness. That way, the cause can be dealt with so as to remove idleness from the workplace.

I agree with you that poor management may be the biggest cause of laziness. When the manager does not plan well on company's activities and guide the workers on what to do, thy will stay idle all day. This is because they don't have a guidance on what to achieve. Therefore, manager should be clear about the goals and objectives to be achieved.
 
for a good manager that wants the development of his business, the first thing he needs to do is to make sure that he fights against inactivenes among his workers. There are many ways of making passive workers very active.

The first step is to know the reason for this sluggish or idleness among workers. Some workers are lazy because their posts are redundant. There are no or little to he performed maybe in the department that he's handling. We don't expect much from such a worker than to be lazy since he won't have much to keep him busy. To solve this, there is need to reduce the workers or add more tasks.

Some workers are lazy or intentionally don't want to put their best into a particular task because they are not treated properly. When workers are not treated properly, there is tendency that they may be sluggish in their actions and they may not want to put in the best effort for their organisation. To solve this, manager needs to know how to care for the welfare of his workers.


Some are just incompetent. They don't know much about the roles they are to perform. These set of people always find themselves in the office through crook or hook but nit book. To solve this, manager needs to employe competent hands to head a post and make sure those that are incompetent are trained with the current syllabus.
 
In a normal setting, an employee is not supposed to be idle because I believe that there is always work to be done. When laziness sets in, some factors can be responsible for it; either the employee is naturally lazy or it could be that the employee is not encouraged to work which may be due to late payment of salaries or lack of attention towards employees, an inconvenient working environment,etc. In this case the business owner should then try to fix the issue of late payment, and try to create a convenient working environment for the employees.
Sometimes the employees could be affected by personal issues which in turn affects their capacity to work. In this case, communication is key. The business owner might not know that the employee is being affected by personal issues, but if there is communication, and the issue is known , ways in which the issue can be resolved will be reached.
Sometimes the employee might just become lazy on his or her own and can show signs of incompetence through frequent late coming, constant errors or mistakes in paper work,etc. When this occurs frequently, the employees can be queried and can be placed on probation to check for improvement.
 
The truth of the matter is that this cannot be completely eliminated, no matter how much effort you put in, there would always be does who are either not taking their work seriously, or they are just plain lazy. There are times when some might be done with the task given to them, what would they do? The next thing is to just lazy around and do notting.
