it can be very annoying and frustrating when you are falsely accused at the workplace. But then, you still have to put your emotions in check and handle things in a civilised manner. So how do you handle things better.

Stay calm
This is no time for violence you just have to remain calm especially because you are falsely accused.

Be cooperative with investigation

The truth can't be hidden so follow through with any investigation so that the truth can be unearthed.

Provide supporting evidence; if you have documents or anything to show that you are fasten the investigation then go ahead to present them it is the right thing to do and can help help with the issue at hand.

Stay away from the accuser this is the time to keep away from the accuser to avoid going physical or doing anything mad it will help you clear your head better.

Being falsely accused is never a nice thing to experience anywhere, bit it can also happen anywhere, not just at work.

In a lot of cases, it is due to misunderstanding rather than malice. However, it's easy for people to get agitated once they feel slighted which can further deepen the misunderstanding.

Staying calm would help, but if you can get a law enforcement agent as soon as possible especially if it is in a well populated area would help since they've been trained for this. Things cam escalate fast and a lot of people become victims of lynching due to it.

If the issue can be solved within a small group of people, do it fast before it attracts unwanted attention. The faster you can provide evidence to prove your innocence, the better. If you suspect the false accusations are due to malice, you can seek legal action to deter anyone from doin the same thing in the future.

I have never had to handle the issue of being accused falsely but I agree that there are many cases of that and you have mentioned some good ways that one can be able to successfully handle such a situation.

And one thing I will say once more is in that condition, you must be careful with the disposition you show off. There are many innocent people who were falsely accused and were never acquitted because if some attitudes they displayed in the course of the investigation.

Don't be startled but rather as you have said, stay calm. Offer information and things that are requested and things that will certainly be of help in making the investigation easier.

And concerning the false accuser, the Frank advise you gave is the perfect one. Anyone with the tendency to accuse you falsely is also having the tendency of murder. So stay away from such a person until things are alright.
