Yeah your last line is the truth we need to always postponed expenses that will take away our money a lot of time we waste money unnecessarily on things that don't make sense and this continues to tell on our finances.

I sometimes use the 24 hours rule where you have to wait and be sure you are really in need of what you want if I still need it I will know it is important then go for it but if not I will terminate such thought.

When it’s comes to making a budget, keeping track of expenditures, differentiating between necessities and wants, using a list when shopping, comparing costs, and refraining from impulsive purchases are all useful strategies to reduce spending. Think about meal planning, shopping secondhand, utilizing discounts or rebate offers, and haggling over bills or subscriptions. You can save money and establish financial stability by creating financial objectives, reviewing your budget on a regular basis, and engaging in conscious spending.

Yes, Making a budget as always been the number 1 for me. You would need to draw up a budget so that you have a clue of how your finances look like. Then you place your income and expenses side by side to know what you have been spending your money on and see what you need to cut off.

Another one is to track your spending. After making the budget you need to start tracking your expenses. look at what you are buying and reduce irrelevant purchases.

Even though you are an accountant who is an expert in making budgets, you may not necessarily be able to stick to the budget you make, so the main factor to cut down on your spending is being able to refrain from making unnecessary spending, or you must be able to differentiate between needs and desire so that you can make wiser financial decisions, while the budget is only a tool or guideline, but savings will really depend on you to get rid of wasteful habits.
