Why do Youtubers and social media influencers make so much money?

While online advertising rates have reduced drastically in the last decade, with online publishers making very less money, Youtubers and other social media influencers using Instagram and Twitter are making a huge amount of money. Though the page views and followers for the influencers can be manipulated or purchased, it appears that advertisers are willing to spend more money on social media influencers. Is the higher income because TV advertising rates are high, and similar rates are applicable to Youtube and Instagram advertising? Or are the rates higher because the mainstream media is more willing to cover social media influencers?

i think the influencer deliver the service that the advertisters want perfectly. it is always good to deliver the service just as the person wants it and you would get more money. I don't think it's only about the views but that the advertisers are also seeing the changes they needed maybe positively in their business.

The truth is that influencers though some go a long way to influence their followers to actually buy the products of the advertisers against all odds
