Producing traditional religious items

In our Catholic religion there are many religious items that one can buy in the church. There are prayer booklets, stampita (a small card with a prayer and picture of the saint), small figurines, etc.

For the purchase of such religious items it is the parish priest that handles it. The parish priest is the head of the church in a town or city just like a mayor. If you want to manufacture religious items like rosary you have to consult the parish priest for the potential of supplying the church with such items. The profit is not much because the church as a retailer should also earn. But if the order is regular for such items then the revenue of the business is pretty good.

In our religion and culture, you do not have to consult priest or temple authorities to produce religious items like pictures of Gods and Goddesses, rosaries, and other things. Anyone can do this and anyone can make money by manufacturing these items and selling the items. Manufacturing and selling religious items is a big business here.

There is no such business in Hinduism, any person or organization is free to make articles of religious use. Devotees buy goods according to their value and quality. Priests do not control anyone or promote any special, but they can definitely prohibit some items in the temple premises which are not pious according to the rituals and religious rules.
