The method that I am going to share here will generate sales just in few hours. This method does not require you to have a lot of followers. You just need two things, one, products you want to sell, and two, some money to run ads. Here is the step-by-step guide.

Create a Facebook: Give your page a proper name, add a profile picture, banner, email and website address (last two are not necessary if you want to sell directly through facebook

Share your product: Take some cool pictures of your product, and then share on your pafe. Provide proper description related to the product (material, price, size, etc.)

Run ads: Just under your post, you will see “boost” option. Click on that button, you will be taken to advertising page. From there you can create an ad. Try to target your local audience (people in your city/town) and the people who might be interested in your product.

Once your ad goes live, you will start receiving messages or comments related to your product.

I have nothing to say against the method mentioned by the OP. Actually, if you want to use Facebook to sell products this is the best method to do because you don't have to build followers, you can reach a lot of people through your ad and generate sales. If you have 10k followers on your page, you can reach 10k people when you post your product, if your followers are genuinely interested in your product you will be able to sell your product. However, if you do not have 10k followers you can spend $10 and reach 10k people. If you target your ad to the proper audience, people who are in the geographical region where you want to sell, and people who are interested in the product you are selling, you can easily generate sales. You will not only be able to recover your ad budget but even make profits.

Using Facebook ads is one of the surest ways I've seen people make sales. In the past, Facebook pages got a lot of organic views and you didn't need to boost a post or create an ad to make a lot of sales, buy that has changed after the introduction of Facebook groups.

One thing to keep in mind before boosting a post of something you want to sell is to make sure that it does not go against Facebook's advertising policies. There are some items you can't promote at all, like drugs and MLM. You should also make sure the picture you're using is up to the requirements, the call-to-action and others parts of it are all good to avoid getting your account restricted.

You should also be ready to experiment for a while to see if some ads bring better results than others so you can use the best ones. This means having a budget that is not too small.
