When my wife was prescribed maintenance medication for high blood pressure her sister who is a nurse said that it is best to augment the control in the natural way.

Aside from avoiding vices such as smoking and imbibing alcoholic drinks a change of lifestyle can greatly help.
1) The daily exercise can give the stamina for the daily grind with not much effort.
2) A healthy diet and less volume to lose weight (for the overweight) will also help.
3) Get enough rest and complete sleep by observing the bedtime hour.
4) Avoid stress at all cost especially in the work place when you have a job. The blood pressure tends to be agitated when you are tense.
5) Try to be happy all the time. Being positive is good for the health.
