Channels of distribution is described as the path through which goods move from the producer to the consumer it is the path through which ownership of product is transferred as it moves from the producer to the customers. channel of distribution can also be called channels of goods dissemination, furthermore it is depicted as the way through which merchandise move from the maker to the purchaser it is the way through which responsibility for a goods or commodities is moved as it moves from the maker to the final consumers. As mentioned above the producer or manufacturer is the first destination of the goods or commodity before the wholesalers and the retailer's (middle-men) comes in. They specialise in performing activities relating to the purchase and sales of goods in the process of their flow from producer to the final buyers they are institution situated in the marketing channel as point between the producer and the final buyers, in other words they have some expertise in performing exercises connecting with the buy and deals of merchandise during the time spent their stream from maker to the last purchasers they are organization arranged in the advertising channel as point between the maker and the last purchasers, some channels of distribution include: P-C, P-A-R-C, P-W-C, P-W-R-C, P-A-W-R, P-A-C, P-R-C where P is the producer, A is the agent, R is the retailer, W is the wholesaler, and C is the consumer. Finally number of potential buyers must be carefully considered

Channels of distribution are the various (sometimes many) entities that a manufacturer must employ to distribute product to consumer customers, without it it will be difficult for the consumers to reach the producers directly. There are many ways that this can be accomplished.



There are three main types of distribution channels. The most common is a retail distribution channel, in which the product moves from a manufacturer to a wholesaler and then to a retailer before it gets to the consumer. It's also possible for there to be a double intermediary channel where the product moves from manufacture to one wholesaler, then on to another wholesaler prior to reaching the retailer. Finally, there can be a direct distribution channel where the product moves directly from a manufacturer to a consumer – this is rare and happens mostly with purchasable services.


However, Your product may sell directly in person, by phone, or over the Internet through websites you have designed. Trade channels are easier to establish with well-known brands built around extensive distribution systems. Distribution channels require continuous investment in ongoing sales and marketing efforts.



Your distribution system will depend on the kind of company you run or investment.
