Yoga for Respiratory Disease

Yoga is an ancient Indian therapeutic system that not only heals physical diseases but also mental diseases. According to Patanjali, the Hindu savant who wrote treaties on Yoga, the ultimate aim of Yoga is spiritual enlightenment. We may not be spiritually inclined person, but we all can benefit from Yoga to heal our body, mind and emotions.

The health benefits of Yoga have also been accepted by scientific community. To commemorate Yoga and to promote Yoga, the United Nations has declared 23 as World Yoga Day.

Yoga has methods for every ailments and diseases, there are Yoga techniques for heart diseases, diabetes, back pain, joints pain, respiratory diseases, etc.

If you have respiratory disease, here is a yoga method than can help you recover from respiratory diseases.

Sit on the floor with your legs stretched forward. Now tilt backward and rest your body on your elbows. Your palms must face downwards and head should arch back. Now lift your chest up. Breathe deeply for 5-10 times, and then come back to your previous position. Now lie on the ground facing up. Turn your head to the right and then to the left gradually. This is to ease the tension on your neck created by the previous position.

This yoga technique will help you in respiratory diseases.

I think breathing exercise is the best way to improve your lungs health. You need to breathe in a way that you inhale maximum air and provide maximum oxygen to your body. The key to improve your lungs health is to take as much oxygen as you can through your nostrils.
